About
I wanted to write a piece that was both slow and fast at the same time—filled with long, languorous lines and beautiful harmonies but underpinned by hyperspecific groove rhythms that turn on a dime. This reminded me of the feeling of being very energized while asleep, so I called the piece Sleep Dancing. Sleep Dancing was commissioned by Ben Poirot for a recital at Northwestern University. |
