Theory I - Final Project
In order to encourage creativity, one portion of the final exam was a take-home composition project in Flat.io that used chord progressions/loops we have studied this semester. Students were asked to embellish a chord progression and add layers to make around 30 measures of interesting, colorful, and beautiful music.
They could choose from the following chord progressions and had to choose a major or minor key other than C major or A minor:
I - V43 - V65 - I - IV - I6 - ii6 - V - vi - IV - I64 - V7 - I
i - V42 - i6 - iv - i64 - V - VI - i6 - iio6 - i64 - V7 - I
i - viio6 - i6 - iv - i64 - V - VI - iv - iio6 - i64 - V7 - I
I - viio6 - I6 - ii6 - I64 - V - vi - IV - I64 - V7 - I
I - vi - IV - V
i - VI - iio6 - V
I - V - vi - IV
i - V - VI - iv
IV - V - I - vi
vi - IV - I - V

Student Project Examples
One student made a mocked up version of their project in Logic:
i - V43 - V65 - i - i64 - v - VI
i - V42 - i6 - iv - i64 - V - VI - i6 - iio6 - i64 - V7 - i
I - vi - IV - V
